I think this is a marvelous idea...a candle stick & base made entirely of wax! I don't think I'd really want to burn it though, not just because I'd melt away the whole thing but because it could get messy?!...

Flocked wire chandelier...!

I don't know if I can tell you just how much I really like this! I love the fact that it's made from a wire base & since it's not electrical you can hang it virtually anywhere!! Check it out...it also comes in red!
This is so cool!
I'm so excited about this! The USPS has put out these Charles & Ray Eames stamps for 2008. I want to get some now, but I won't want to use them!!
Maria Janosko...
I was browsing Etsy, as I usually do & was lucky enough to stumble upon these prints by Maria Janosko, a talented young artist who makes these whimsical & colorful images.
I was able to contact Maria & she was wonderful enough to tell me a bit about herself & where she came up with this fun style!
check out more from Maria here...
A Dickson college graduate, Maria studied Fine Art & took every type of art class she could
get her hands on! After graduating, she returned to School to pursue Graphic Design, which she is currently working on.
After asking how she came up with the concept of falling chairs & parachuting houses, Maria explained that she is also very interested in scientific theories, particularly one that studies the relationship between balance & chaos. In an attempt to better understand this, she began drawing out images of masses of people spilling out of cars & subways. She then began to play with "space" & recognizable objects {chairs, chimneys, parachutes, houses...}.
Maria works with Gouache, even exacto knives & enjoys drawing daily. I say Maria, keep up the good work!!

One man's junk...another man's coffee table!
Excuse the blurry photo (again) it's not the best camera & it's very dark & overcast where I live so it wouldn't focus...
I purchased this little coffee table for only $40 at a furniture consignment store & had to share it with you! I think it may have been a custom design but not sure. The sides extend out & it's nice & low to the ground, which is good for our tiny house!

Easy chocolate croissants...!

Just wanted to share this simple & yummy recipe with you..
You'll need::
~a package of puff pastry or crescent rolls
~choc chips, Nutella or fudge
~butter
1}preheat oven to the temp listed on roll package
2} roll out puff pastry or crescent rolls, & fill with a tsp. choc (fill towards the wider end to make it easier to roll up!)
3}brush a bit of sweet butter over the tops
4}bake!
They're really yummy but not the best breakfast!!
I'm obsessed...
I found Coley Claire just a little bit ago & her styles are breath taking! Seriuosly, one of my new favorite designers! Plus, the model is gorgeous! I just love her somewhat vintage shapes & her lovely color choices & the way she mixes soft floral with bold solids!

Sara Story Design...

I'm really enjoying these rooms by Sara Story...she's another favorite! I particularly love the above picture, rooms within a room, done with ease! The color palette is so soft & sophisticated! You can view more of her lovely residential spaces here...

Genius...!
I saw this last night @ Huset & instantly want it! I have a small pot of basil sitting on a ledge outside my kitchen window, which is super convenient for cooking. This, though, is way better!
I love that you can water it from the bottom...nice & clean and you don't have to mess with the dirt, which is perfect for an indoor herb garden! {they also have individual pots like this available!}
I'm feeling...black & white!

Lately I've been really drawn to black & white...be it in housewares or accessories, the timeless staple is easy to find. Here are a few of my latest objects of affection...
1}Ferm Living wallpaper 2}Moschino blouse 3}Show vases 4}Juicy handbag 5}Sultan table 6}"It's crowded" 7} Upper playground 8}Basket

Right now I'm loving...

...the primary colored dresses in Sari Gueron's Spring '08 line. I really like the mix of a shorter hem with long sleeves, strapless, short-sleeved & a pleated neckline! Plus the colors are classic!
Anna Maria Horner
Anna Maria, a multi-faceted & talented designer has this lovely line of fabrics..."Drawing Room" is mt favorite of her collections. She also has a pretty cute blog where you can stay updated on her happenings...
Adhesive window coverings...

I just love these adhesive window coverings from 2jane...they're a great alternative to an unsightly neighbor or view...even just another alternative to the classic window treatments since they still let in diffused light.

I couldn't resist!

I couldn't NOT post this...Feel More Human has quite a variety if really cool dinnerware...& don't even get me started on the drinkware! I especially like the map series {above is an aerial map of New Orleans} but they're all fun & there's plenty more where this came from!
DIY...Method bird feeder!

This bird feeder was made from Method's soap container & I thought the idea was brilliant! Besides the fact that this is recycling plastic it's also very easy. Cut 2 round holes in either side & slide in a plastic ring, which you can find in the plumbing section of the hardware store, cork the top & add a twig for a perch. How easy & cool!
This is lovely!

These vases are so fun! I like how you can still arrange several flowers together or use a single stem & it still looks good!
A new favorite...Ami Mckay!

I've been looking over Ami McKay's work a lot lately...it's so lovely! A wonderful interior designer she has also come out with a completely sustainable line of furniture, which I must say that I love!
Pure consists of three collections-Earth, Air, Fire & Water {water being fluid lines & cool colors, fire being sensual, unpredictable & warmer colors...you can figure out the rest}. Check out her portfolio as well as her new furniture line...it's marvelous!
Frances J Melhop

Lately I've been searching for great photography which explains the posts of Reid Rolls & most recently of Rebecca Thuss. Frances J Melhop is another new favorite! Born in New Zealand, she's been a photographer since she was 12! She's got work from fashion editorials, advertising, portraits & even interiors! With a lovely Etsy shop & even lovelier portfolio, I could look at these images forever...and so should you!

What I did this weekend...
Saturday I got this chair, for free since our neighbors didn't want it anymore, and immediately I saw that it had potential! In one afternoon I sanded down the old varnish & painted this black semi-gloss over the entire chair. I recovered the seat {it still had a nice cushion} with a cotton upholstery fabric & Viola! A new chair for our office area!

Cutest diaper bags ever!

It's hard to believe it's already Friday!! So I'm leaving you with this...
These diaper bags by LeSportsac are so adorable & chic at the same time! LeSportsac makes great & functional bags anyways, but these come with coordinating changing pad & small pouch!
It's times like these I have to remind myself I'm not ready for a baby...yet!
Paperbag...collection
Created by Kathie Armstrong, this young, modern & budding clothing line is purposefully rough looking. Kathie says she still feels that her line is taking shape & is always open to new inspiration & techniques. You can view more of her line here or if you happen to be in Canada you can visit Very Hush Hush...
Fun find...
This is a great way to be prepared wherever you go! These portable 1st aid & sewing kits are portable & inexpensive! I would probably want one of each!
Thuss Farrell...

Some of you may be familiar with Rebecca Thuss...an amazingly talented stylist {among other things} who's work you've probably seen on Martha Stewart magazines & photos but did you know that she has also collaborated with her husband to create ThussFarrell? With wonderful photography & design the company's portfolio is fun & awe inspiring!
The bottom photo is, of course, Rebecca's & the top pattern images are from their collaborative design work. Check it out...sad to say but I think I spent almost an hour combined looking through their extensive portfolios!

An eco-friendly to-go cup...
A novel idea...I think...to come up with a porcelain & silicone to-go cup. A cup that can be reused but still retains the shape & size up the typical paper & plastic cups! Pretty cool huh?
Eskell

Similar to Lyell {who I featured a few weeks back}, Eskell makes lovely fashions & I love these photos. With touches of vintage & playfulness, Eskell's Spring line is worth checking out. I'm a big fan of this color palette...the feminine red with florals & high-waisted shorts...{sigh!}
Embroidery bowl...

These porcelain embroidery bowls are an excellent idea! You can design any shape or combination of colors to be whatever you want. You can purchase the kit-including needles, needle threader, & yarn color skeins-right here...

Spring sparkle...

Some fun colors with shimmery details, check out these inexpensive new styles to add some fun to your drab denim...!
Like paint swatches...only better

{contrasting colors & colors that were pulled from the furniture}
{muted grays}
{shades of white}
So I've been wanting to paint my off-white living room but I'm clueless on what color...I wish I could wallpaper & that would solve it, but that's not an option right now. So I put together a few rooms with wall colors that I like. As you can see, I'm pretty open!
Let me know if you have a favorite...!
Meyer-Lavigne...

Meyer-Lavigne...I love looking at their things! Anyways, a design duo, Kristine Meyer & Sabine Lavigne {who both graduated from Denmark's School of Design} make up the Copenhagen based design firm. Among their extensive list of abilities, they are interior designers, stylists, writers & designers of housewares including ceramics & bedding. Oh, and they're bloggers! Wow, full plate huh?
Currently the duo is working on a project called "rainy days" which should come out in about a month-they promised to send me pics when they come out so stay tuned for that!!

Hella Jongerius...

This little plate from Rose & Radish has so much charm...I love it! Left alone it's a great centerpiece for a dining table it looks so real but with the snail's golden trail you can't help but to smile! Here's some more I found at Douglas & Hope...or you can just check out R&R's site!
Multi-tasker...

I thought this was clever & funny...also, just well designed. If you'd like to see more check it out here...
Bags from The Sea Within...

What did we do before Etsy? These fun bags are from The Sea Within, made by Nadine who grew up in Winnepeg, Manitoba & is currently working on her Master's while running quite a lovely shoppe on Etsy.
Nadine says she grew up doing creative things including sewing her own skirts in High School. She credits her mom with encouraging her to sew & now she enjoys making these fun bags!
Check out Nadine, her wonderful bags & even some equally cute tissue holders here! Enjoy!
My own Eames knockoff...

I've long been a fan of the Charles & Ray Eames walnut stool, the size & shape & the fact that it's Eames of course! A few months ago I spotted this cherry stool at Walmart & it reminded me of my coveted Eames one. I mulled over it for a while & today finally purchased it. It' actually really sturdy & the finish is quality...the closest I'll get to the original. What do you think?

Loolo textiles...

Grace over at D*Sponge posted these today & I couldn't stop thinking about them! The textures & colors of the biodegradable textiles are fabulous! I definitely think they are great accessory for the modern home...adding some softness & frill against the strict clean lines of modern furniture & housewares! Check it out!...
DIY-grocery tote...

fabric from Ikea...
My husband & I have talked about ways we can help cut down our use of plastics (yuck) & decided the best thing would be to cut down on plastic bags. As a result I made myself several grocery totes that I leave in my trunk & take with me to the store. Here a little D.I.Y. project for you...
1}cut your fabric & lining (mine was 18" x 18")
2} to do a French seam you'll pin the pieces right side out & make a 1/4 in. seam::then you'll turn it inside out, press & make a 1/2 in. seam-to enclose your raw edges...it looks the best!
3}I sewed these little darts across the inside corners to give the bag some structure(see the 3rd set of pictures from bottom)
4}finish your raw edges at the top of the bag by sewing a basting stitch 1/4 in. from edge, fold on that line, then fold once more...then stitch
5}To make your straps...I cut long pieces about 5" thick, pressed 1/4 in. on both sides (lengthwise) then folded it on itself, pressed again & stitched 1/4 in. from the finished edge
6}I attached the straps by pinning in place then sewing a "X" pattern, for extra sturdiness
Viola! You have an eco-friendly, reusable grocery tote {or anything tote for that matter} which will help greatly reduce the use of plastic bags!
Now go shopping!!

DIY {cupboard facelift...

Here's a quick & easy idea to leave you with for the weekend...I simply took some Snow & Graham paper & cut it to the size of the inside of my kitchen shelves. I dabbed some Mod Podge along the edges & corners of the shelves & wall & adhered the paper. This is great because in a few months when I'm sick of looking at this pattern {although I don't know if that will happen!} I can change it out just by tracing the old pieces of paper liner!
Have a splendid Mother's Day weekend!
Meljoy...

...an artist who uses digital design {such as vector art}, screen printing, has her designs featured on snowboards & even garments available @ Urban, & even is a fellow blogger, Meljoy creates fun & colorful designs. I especially like the lines of the first picture, they're so soft & airy. I really enjoy looking through artist's portfolio's & Meljoy is no exception! Check it out...
Woodson & Rummerfield's showroom...

Sometimes I like to browse Woodson & Rummerfield's showroom pics. They change the design of their showroom seasonally & it's fun to see all the different looks they create in the same space {I'd like to do that with my home!}. Their styles are high glamour & decadent so it's always an extravagant procuction!
Besides running a successful design firm, they have an online store filled with glitzy chandeliers & lustful chairs! To see more click here...

Another Boutique...another week!
I can't say how much I enjoy that Lucky does this "boutique of the week" on their site! Since I just can't travel the nation scouting for chic shops-I'm thankful that Lucky can & does! Maeve Riley is a little shop out of San Diego who is owned by ex-hairstylist Michelle Smith who mixes vintage furniture with of-the-moment labels. Her site is pretty cute as well!
p.s.-I know, I'm a week late!
Ooba nest collection...

This modern little bassinet is so fun, but the coolest thing about it is that is converts into a play table & toy bin! I love furniture that is multi-functional, like the Netto crib that can be changed into a toddler's bed! This is such a great investment!

Mother's Day Promo over @ Fawn & Forest...
Right now at Fawn & Forest when you spend $75 or more you get a free Tikoli towel-a great gift for mom...especially if you were already planning on purchasing from F & F! Otherwise, you can still pick one up for under 8 bucks!
The Kartell ghost chair...for baby!
Now this is just too much! I saw this over @ Ohdeedoh & thought it was cute...but you know how fast kids grow out of those designer outfits? How long will this last them? It's still pretty adorable though...
More from Velocity...!

I had to share these lovely porcelain vases & candleholders also..I'm just such a sucker for almost anything made from porcelain & floral...so naturally I like these! Starting @ $11 anyone can add one of these to a side table or shelf...:)
Ibride trays from Velocity...
I found these sort of funny but also whimsical...I love that these can easily be much more than just trays & I think even a delightful little surprise for guests who wouldn't suspect a victorian birdy tray on your coffee table!
How sweet it is...

Who could pass up this lovely skirt from none other than...Forever21? How chic is the high waist & little pleats & the pattern, the pattern. The sweetest part...it's under $18!

Element Clay Studio...

I love promoting other Etsians & these ceramics by Heather Knight are definitely worth mentioning! I love the urchin bowls with colorfully glazed centers. How wonderful would these look in the middle of a dining table, what a statement! Make sure to check out her website as well!
Kirin notebook cozy...
I thought these were cute...notebook cozies from Lara Cameron, an Australian textile designer who's online shop is addictive!
Great design, brought to you by Marimekko...

by Samu-Jussi Koski
by Mika Piirainen
When it comes down to it, I can't decide which I appreciate more-interior design or fashion design. You live your life in both & sometimes it's hard to separate the two. Marimekko is a fabulous, textile & clothing design company {from Finland} that produces everything from bedding to children's clothes.
The Spring line-which includes 4 versions from 4 different designers is so inspiring! I could look through these product cards for hours!

More to covet from...Ikea
As if I need to find anything else I need from Ikea, they come out with this! At only $89, Tobias is almost worth another road trip! Any ways, I love that it's acrylic & the perfect occasional or dining chair.
I have the perfect spot for it...!
A Merry Mishap @ the Scoop!
Laura over at the Scoop posted some pics from Omniarte Design...& did some name dropping, which is always nice. She featured some pics from a post I did a while back of Erinn Valencich's work. You can see it here...
Ooh, ahh...Lisa Bengtsson!

I'm a big fan of Lisa Bengtsson-illustrator, graphic, pattern & wallpaper designer. I'm starting a mini project in my home...a wall dedicated to her work {no it's not a shrine!}. I have a frame collage on one of my walls where I change out photos frequently & right now I'm feeling this!
{you may remember my post a while back of her frames wallpaper}
Reid Rolls Photography

Love these photos from Reid Rolls. Check out his site because there's many more wonderful photos in his portfolio. Besides interior photos he also has lovely pics of exteriors, people, children & personal scenes. Here are a few I found from his flickr phtostream...enjoy!
While we're on the subject...
Since we're on the topic of gardening, I love these streamlined teak herb boxes from Jason Home & Garden. They're so simple & provide the perfect palette for bright & colorful blooms or luscious herbs.
Some gardening...finally!
Here in Idaho, Spring has had a hard time sticking around. I think, though it's finally arrived. So, I, having been itching to start my Spring planting, did so this weekend.
I only filled 4 of my pots, but it was so relaxing & feels good to have some fresh foliage on the yard again. Fiona, my dauschund/cocker spaniel mix helped me Saturday {pictured held by my husband because she wouldn't hold still for a photo!} plant some flowers & sniff manure!
To all you green thumbs out there, happy planting!

New Anthrologie catalog...

I received the new Summer catalog from Anthropologie today & it's lovely, as usual. I would love to work for them as a stylist, it would really be my dream job!
The new catalog has new styles & a section on swimsuits {we're almost there!} & of course beautiful visual styling, that which we've come to expect from our beloved Anthropologie. To view the online catalog go here...
New furniture @ Urban...

It seems like lately Urban has been getting in more furniture & home accessories. These I noticed yesterday & thought they were fun! I love the mid-century modern dresser & the patterned chair. This bottom little pod could be used as a stool or side table & comes also in orange & white. Find more new home additions here...

Gorgeous rooms...!
lovely color story!
what a tranquil bedroom & bath
I'll have a closet like this...someday!
As often as I find great interior inspiration, I share it. I found this yesterday & thought it was fabulous! Truly livable spaces with magazine-type beauty & such a variety of colors & textures were used that I can imagine this could suit many different tastes...I know it does mine!
I really think I could stare at these pics all day!
found them here...
Makeovers...
after!
before...
after!
before...
found this story via apartment therapy
I loved the way these two rooms turned out! The kitchen makeover was only 1 hour & the living room was a process that took a weekend...pretty impressive either way! The makeover story was actually featured on O at home where client {Elizabeth Fiore} was teamed up with stylist Lance Boyd who used clean lines & organization to make the living room feel bigger.
You can find more before & afters here & more of Elizabeth's home right here!
rug availble here {a wonderful source for rugs!}

Cute...
Haven't seen anything worth considering @ Old Navy for quite a while, until I found this little top yesterday...& I think it's pretty cute, but then again I'm a sucker for anything that ties around the neck! Anyways...it's only $24.5, at that price suddenly it's worth considering!
Just thought I'd share! :)

Great pillows...

In search of great & unique throw pillows?...Look no further! {wow that was cheesy!}
These pillows from Kalla, the fabric is hand-made by the artist as well as the pillow itself. Each print comes in different colors on white & I love how bright & cheery they are. I also appreciate the clean, crisp lines of the design, not to mention the fact that they aren't quite oblong & not quite square, like that too!
Interiors by Julianne Moore...

before & afters
This month's issue of Domino features interiors designed by Julianne Moore & they're stunning...truly some of my favorites because of her great color palettes. I adore muted grays, whites & black with splashes of yellow, the most comfortable & enjoyable color combos to me. I'm actually in the process of designing business cards with just those very colors-anyways...
Enjoy these photos, maybe they'll inspire you too!
Check out this slideshow for a few extra pictures not featured in the magazine...
