Charley Harper at...Old Navy!?

I visited the, for the most part disappointing, store tonight to kill time and what treasure did I happen upon? Why, it's Charley Harper, for kids! From what I saw there were coloring books, puzzles, books, memory cards and floor puzzles! How great! And it's all under $15!

I picked up the coloring book but might have to go back for more now...

Finally bought myself a pair of boyfriend jeans, not that I was reluctant to do so but rather that I hadn't found the right ones.
Now I'm craving the perfect cutout bootie to go with them...any of these 3 would do!

more couch drama...

That's it, folks, we must find a new sofa! The other night we rented a movie, got our popcorn and blankets and, tried, to make ourselves comfortable. Half way though the movie though, my husband shoots out of his seat!
"What's wrong?" I ask, as if I don't know!
"We HAVE to get a new sofa! This one is sooo uncomfortable! I can't sit on it without cramping up my back!"
I smile a half way evil smile, knowing this means IT'S ON! You know that once the husband starts asking for the very thing you've been wanting, something is bound to happen!
That said, I've been searching vigorously, at least this morning, for one that could possibly make us happy.
The bottom photo is from AT & it's just an example of the style I like. The other 2 are from West Elm and they're options.
I'm open to any suggestions/links to sofas you'd like to offer!!

p.s.-here's the 1 I'd get if money grew on trees!

book mobile...

There's something so whimsical and ingenious about this, I would even use it as a baby mobile since the type and patterned paper would create plenty of visual stimulation!

a cupboard facial...!

I'm all about doing things on the cheap! That in mind I made my own facial scrub this morning & was surprisingly refreshing! Here's how:

[2 tlbs. rolled oats
[2 tlbs.plain yogurt
[2 tlbs. honey

Just mix together & apply, I used an old pastry brush. Then rub lightly, rinse well!

How did I miss this? I was browsing the Martha archives, just to kill time & ran across this. Was it in the 1 Blueprint issue I missed? Either way, I love this loft tour.
My husband and I have dreamt of having a loft, yes just 1 enormous box, for years, and seeing this only encourages!

Lost & found...

I found this company @ Design Milk yesterday & how great are these whimsical pieces?! Easy to see where the name comes from this series combines existing pieces of furniture with finished hinks of wood. I love that it's refined just enough that you would want it in your home!

Last week I started a new Etsy shop, The Collector's Shoppe. I want it to be a place to share great vintage pieces, especially dishes and decorative glassware. A few are recent finds and others are pieces I've held on to for a while.

I've seen these types of Danish sofas around, but this one from UO is especially inexpensive. That said, I've also been told that their sofas are pretty cheap in quality-not good!
This would fit right in with my living room since I sort of have this mid-century mod feel with vintage furniture pieces.
What are your thoughts?...

I just picked up a pair of these today & had to share! At first I was going to pass them up because I'm not big on wedges, in general, but I gave it a second chance & oh my!
Tonight is my husband & I's date night...will I be wearing these tonight, you ask? Yes, indeed!

vintage find of the week!

I bought this Tuesday, after driving past an antique store Mon night. When I went in the next morning I was surprised to see an old friend who was shoppe sitting for her parents. Giving me a great deal, she only charged me $40!
It's design is very similar to the vintage Saarinen tulip chairs, but all I really know is that it was produced by a company called Burke, out of Texas. There's no date but similar ones were made somewhere around the 1950's.

I saw this sneak peek at emmas designblogg and let me tell you...I love this cabinet! I will find a way to get it! I don't know how but it's inevitable. This is too perfect for storing all of my sewing and craft pieces/projects. I'm sure many of you could find great uses for a piece like this when it becomes available Feb 1st!

moss invasion...

Over the last several weeks we have received an impressive amount of moisture! Be it snow, rain and now this week continuous fog, our backyard seems like the ideal place for moss to flourish!
The other day I photographed a few scenes. The top picture was interesting because the moisture on the fence created this cityscape shape, which I thought was cute. [if you can call moss cute?]
Can you tell we're trying to save money these days?!
